File Extensions and Explanation
The words file extension may sound as if it's something difficult to understand or funny to some ears, how can files be extended? asked by one of my students. File extension does not mean the elasticity of a file but it refers to the piece of alphanumerical values added to the name of a document at the end. An example of this is africaqueen2face.mp3The above highlighted .mp3 is an example of file extension and this .mp3 is what that makes devices recognize africaqueen2face.mp3 as an audio file.
Contrarily, if the file africaqueen2face is saved as africaqueen2face.mp4 instead of .mp3; It means the file will now play as a video and not as an audio. More file extensions and their explanation.
